Can my Virtual Desktop remain on 24/7?
Yes. For many Virtual Desktop users (such as TradeStation® users or Forex® traders) it is imperative that their desktop remain running at all times. When exiting you Virtual Desktop, if you "disconnect" rather than "logout" you desktop session will continue to operate.
Can I install my own software on my Virtual Desktop?
Yes. You can install any software program you want on your Virtual Desktop.
How do I access my Virtual Desktop?
To access your Virtual Desktop, all you need is a web browser and an internet connection. Just open a web browser and go to the designated url of your Virtual Desktop.
Can I customize the url of my Virtual Desktop?
Yes. You can customize the url of your Virtual Desktop to either a full domain (xyzcompany.com) or a sub-domain (desktop.xyzcompany.com).
Can I print from my Virtual Desktop?
Yes. You can print to any locally connected printer. The Virtual Desktop application will automatically recognize any installed printer.
Can I access local disk drives, CD/DVD drives, or USB drives?
Yes. You can access any local drive from your Virtual Desktop. Also, for security purposes, you have the option of configuring your Virtual Desktop so it cannot access any local drives.
How fast does my internet connection need to be to use a Virtual Desktop?
Virtual Desktops are designed to run with a very minimal amount of bandwidth. Typically, 20Kbps or more should be adequate.
Do you support thin client harware, such as Wyse thin client devices?
Yes. Thin client devices from manufacturers such Wyse can be used to access your Virtual Desktop.
Do you offer shared file server services with Virtual Desktops?
Yes. Shared file server space can be set up for any size to accomodate any need.
Can I replace all of the workstation at my business with Virtual Desktops?
Yes. Many business and organizations are doing just that. There are enormous cost savings and technical advantages to virtualization.
Can I host websites on my Virtual Desktop?
No. Virtual Desktops are not designed to be web servers, but rather, a personal workstation that you can access from anywhere.
Can I access a Virtual Desktop from a Mac?
Yes. A Windows XP, Vista, or Windows 7 Virtual Desktop can be accessed from any Mac computer.
What types of billing options are available?
For monthly services, we accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, Paypal, Wire Transfer, eCheck, or check. We can either charge a credit card each month or send you an invoice. Your account can be setup to be billed monthly, quarterly, or yearly. Accounts billed yearly will receive one month of free service.
What are your contract terms? How long do I have to sign up for?
